in next 2 weeks
The signature count for Sarah's Law reached 1,004,000 on the evening of Wednesday,
April 2. 1.1million signatures are needed
to qualify for the California ballot in November.
Sarah's Law petitions are being circulated during the weekends of April
5-6 and 12-13. All petitions must be received in San Diego (1703 India
St., San diego 92101) not later than Tuesday, April 15, 2008.
Hero Churches
St. Mary Magdalene Parish in Camarillo
collected more than 885 signatures on the weekend of March 29 and 30. Calvary Chapel
in Santa Ana sent in 1155 signatures on April 2 - this was one of several shipments
of signatures from this evangelical church.
Mrs. Myrt Ellis, chairwoman of the Respect Life Committee at Mary Magdalene, attributed
the success of the signature-gathering drive to her pastor, Fr. Jim Stehly, who
after each Mass, touchingly recounted the story of Sarah's tragic death.
We have blue envelopes containing
petitions, flyers, return envelopes you can pick up at 1703 India Street, downtown
San Diego, Mon-Fri, 9-5.
We encourage you to take them and distribute door to door
in communities where you can.
Private residences preferable; more likely to have registered voters.
